Laboratory
Lab staff The laboratory for AAHS, centrally located in the clinic/hospital area, is a high complexity testing, CLIA certified laboratory (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988). The laboratory provides routine and emergency testing for our health care providers 24 hours a day.

It is fully staffed during the day and provides on-call services evenings and holidays. Lab staff includes certified medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians. Ordering and report generation is via a lab information system (LIS) computer.

Our lab performs most of its testing in-house, including chemistry testing blood profiles, hematology, blood banking, and urinalysis using state-of-the-art instrumentation.

We serve as a transfusion service for individuals needing blood or blood products which are provided by volunteer donors to the American Red Cross.

Cytology, pap smears, and tissue testing is performed at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota.
